INDIA // The record lift that carries more than 200 people
Is the elevator capable of carrying the largest number of people at the same time? It could only be found in India, one of the nations with the largest number of inhabitants on our planet. This happens in particular in the Bandra Kurla complex, in Mumbai where, for some years, there has been an elevator, located at the Jio World Center (JWC), capable of carrying more than 200 people, whose elevator cabin is almost 26 sqm. In practice it is a real “salon” that moves vertically. This is certainly an impressive solution that even allows you to carry an entire wedding party in full. The lift has five stops within JWC and is part of an area of 75,000 square meters served, among other things, by a total of 188 other elevators and escalators. The data that obviously made this structure certainly record is the capacity, because the lift has a capacity of 16 tons. Truly an impressive fact that has made it unique and famous all over the world …
